  • day 3

so yesterday here’s what happened, you know, just to recap.

    1. mike d played bass guitar on the three songs that jeremy had tracked drums to. “can you feel it” “o for a thousand tongues” and “oh the glory of it all”.
    2. shane ate part of a potato.
    3. shane found himself briefly in a saturated fat coma.
    4. shane wondered aloud, “where am i?! what happened?!”
    5. hogan set up for violin parts on the three songs mentioned previously.
    6. we discovered that our studio is wired pin 3 hot rather than the unofficially universal pin 2 hot.
    7. this would be our fault because we have no idea what we’re doing. or, we just really counter cultural. yes. we were making a statement. i mean, who says pin 2 must be hot? who?
    8. we ate at olive garden. shane had the “tour of itally.” this is a meal that intends for you to basically eat your way around the country.
    9. taylor (the kid) and jack brought guitars over so we could start on electrics this morning.

so here’s what’s going on right now. jack and taylor are tracking guitars for “oh the glory of it all” downstairs. hogan is tracking violin for “oh the glory of it all” upstairs. he would have been done but he had me come listen and i requested that during the break section, where he basically has a solo, he make his transitions between notes a little more legato. must milk it a little more. it’s an incredibly emotive part. it will make your insides soar i’m pretty sure.

we’re currently listening to jack a/b his line 6 delay pedal that he typically uses during this song, with an analogue tape delay. which do you think will when out? it’s pretty obvious…
