  • ok. so sorry for the neglect. i have now recieved enough abusive emails and comments that i repent and will make ammends for the lack of entries. beginning next week when we get back out on the road i will be giving you an inside, pictorial look at what is going on. don’t tell anyone, as it is just for you faithful xanga friends and we wouldn’t want to spoil it with other’s, less faithful, presence. i know this all sounds very exciting but you will soon see life on the road is anything but. ok, so sometimes it is exciting and i’m simply trying to lower your expectations. but seriously. not that exciting. only a little. ok, sometimes it’s really really exciting but you never know. so next week could go either way. we’ll have to just wait and see. wow. i’m so excited!

    You are entirely correct. Life on the road is exciting, but it can be not-so-exciting at times. I’ve spent my entire life traveling with my mom’s adult ministry, and the last 7 years with our family’s family ministry. The website’s http://www.wendyandthejamesgang.com if you’re curious.     BTW, “You’re Everything” absolutely rocks. Thanks so much for your awesome ministry.

  • you should come to Corpus Christi (or Kingsville, even better!). Very few people ever come down this far, and it is always at least a 2 hour trip to wherever good concerts are. I am not one who thinks God works any more through big productions than through intimate corporate worship in leaky BSM buildings in the middle of nowhere… but it would be really cool for you guys to make it down here, anyway :) !

It seems I fallprey to the American Way of life and view you as something more than you are(no offense I think your rock tremendously), But I lose sight of the fact that you are inately human like the rest of us. So as I offer forgiveness as you have I asked , and I now ask for it myself. May the reason why I support you so much be the fact that you are not just famous, but that when I listen to your music I worship the God in who gave you the ability to create it.   • no comps?????  are you kidding???????  i haven’t had to pay to see you since lexington…. 9 shows ago.  i guess i can fork out the funds because i’ve already booked my hotel on priceline and i didn’t use the $5 “emergency” miss plan.  dern it.  and yes, rob will be stellar.  he doesn’t charge like you said….but he doesn’t sing like you.

    see you in a month at grand rapids.  long drive= $120; hotel from priceline= $75; 2 crowder tickets= $40; seeing crowder and rob in the same 24 hour span= priceless!

  • I had a great time at Fresh ’05, LA a few weeks ago. All the kids were going pretty crazy for you guys. I’m glad that you guys sang “Our Love is Loud”- it’s been awhile since I’ve heard you guys play that live. I thought it was just a shame that you guys only played 3 of your new songs when I anticipated 7 like you promised- haha. I mean, “A Collision” was all I was listening to since I got my preordered CD last Tuesday, and I really love it- the level of creative sound and the covers of Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, and Sufjan Stevens were just amazing (especially since I’m a big Sufjan Stevens fan). So I was slightly bummed that you guys didn’t at least play “Rescue is Coming.”

    Well, I had great time praising God that night anyway, and that’s the most important thing- plus I was glad to see you guys again. God bless you guys for the remainder of the tour.

  • I would love to hear more insight into what it is like on the road — is it exhausting?  Are you able to spend quality time with God and receive refreshment in this way?  I know this is something Shane & Shane discuss–that with enough time touring, they feel as if they stuff their mouths with a quick drive-thru, fast-food version of time with God.  Anyways, I am just interested and curious as to how this time is for you guys.  God bless.

  • Although it has been almost 2 months since Hurricane Katrina hit, and a month since Hurricane Rita, people are still in desperate need of help.  The media has stopped covering the disaster as much, but people need to be aware that there are still people dying everyday, people who don’t have the food, water, medications, or shelter that they need to survive.
     
    We’ve pretty much started an organization to get these people what they need, although we don’t have an official name, we’re doing what we can, but there is only so much you can do with no financial aid, no real outside support.  At this precise moment we are not asking for donations, not asking for volunteers.  We ask that you stay tuned to my journal, while we finish preparations on a small video trailer, showing the things that have already been done, a teaser for a video that will come out later, and will shock you to no end.  And it isn’t over yet.  We are more than prepared to be there for those who will be affected by Hurricane Wilma, and hopefully any other natural disaster that will come our way.
     
    We’re not asking anyone to jump to help us without an explanation, and that will come with time.  If things go as planned, we will have a link for the trailer tomorrow, and if anybody is interested in helping in any way, shape, or form, please e-mail Morgan at TinkerDumplin@aol.com or leave a comment at http://www.xanga.com/disasterrelief and as things progress, we will let you know what you can do to help, which most likely will never even involve leaving your home.

  • sometimes the key to enjoying something is having lowered expectations. to wit: i went to see the film, ‘man of the house’ not having even heard of it (my wife and i went because the particular theater was hosting a ‘reel moms’ event where we were able to bring our lovely, chatty one and a half year old daughter. and this was the film they were showing that day). i found that i rather enjoyed tommy lee jones’ grousing about, and the explosions, and cedric the entertainer. now, if i had gone expecting ‘the fugitive’ from tlj, perhaps i would have been disappointed.

    anyhoo, isn’t xanga all about publicly reviewing the minutiae of daily life?
