  • we have a treat this week. a good friend of ours, marko we’ll call him, has joined us for a few days on the road. we are referring to him as our road pastor. he’s not. well he sort of is. i mean we’ve never had a “road pastor” so we’re not sure exactly what qualifies one as such. so he may be. we’re just not sure. he’s here though. for a couple of days. he’s living his rock and roll fantasy.

    Hey, yeah.
Here come the jesters, one, two, three.
It’s all part of my fantasy,
I love the music and I love to see
    the crowd,
Dancing in the aisles and singing out loud, yeah.

Here come the dancers one by one,
Your mamas calling but you’re having fun
You’ll find you’re dancing on a number nine cloud
Put your hands together and sing
    it out loud

Its all part of my rock ‘n’ roll
    fantasy, yeah.
Its all part of my rock ‘n’ roll
    dream, yeah.

It’s all part of my rock ‘n’ roll fantasy.
It’s all part of my rock ‘n’ roll
    dream.

Put out the spot lights one and all
And let the feeling get down to
    your soul
The music’s so loud you can here the sound
Reaching for the sky churning up the ground

It’s all part of my rock ‘n’ roll fantasy.
Its all part of my rock ‘n’ roll dream, oh, yeah.
It’s all part of my rock ‘n’ roll fantasy.
Its all part of my rock ‘n’ roll dream, yeah, yeah.
Fantasy, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
    Fantasy, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

ok. sorry. uh, yeah, so we have a road pastor. here he is…

he seems to be settling in just fine. laptop well placed. fingers at the ready. type type typing away. it’s what we call living the dream. when asked how he slept last night (first time in a bunk on a rock and roll bus) he responded, “i wouldn’t qualify it as restful or spacious.” exactly.

    Soli Deo Gloria,

    Jenzi

  • Second comment, yes!

  • I am still thinking about coming to see you at the Coliseum.

  • yeah, yeah, ooooh yeah

  • Marko looks famaliar… except for the beard… and dark hair…

    :D

  • Fifth Comment is awesome.  Highest I’ve been.  You need to tour the northeast more.  I know venues are expensive, but I know it would sell out.

  • Sweetness!! haha

  • I loved ya’ll in Kansas City last night! Too bad you and your “keytar” didn’t get the respect that you deserved when you wanted everyone to be quiet!! But, you egged us on!

and thanks for playing undignified! I was in the fifth row and jumping up and down! Sweet!!

  • your “Road Pastor”  looks pretty cool.  My dad is a pastor.  That song is pretty cool too.

  • that would be cool to do.  a road pastor….

  • the road pastor looks just like you!

Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delievered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.
    Isaiah 38:17 (King James Version)

  • I always look forward to your updates. Especially the ones when you are on tour or when you’ve had this glorious or humourous revelation.

  • So, Jenzi my daughter is 30 years younger than I, and we both worship the same Lord and enjoy David Crowder’s music!  How great is our God!?!?  And it’s funny that I heard Jenzi up here listening to Bad Company…hehe

  • heh. that’s awesome. say ‘hi’ to him for me.
    nice lines.

  • The rain poured down and everything was soaked. My mind began to compare the drenching to that of a christian.  It rains ever so often and gets everything wet.  Then the sun comes up and everything is dry, and repeats when nessecery.  My life is like this cycle of quenching the lands thirst.  God rains his glory down on me, i soak up all of it and love it. Then the sun comes out and i get dried up again.  It’s really making me tired of getting wet and then drying up, I leave the stage from playing, set the bible down from reading and then that moment stays there…

  • oh, yeah, I forgot to tell you not to hug Mac anymore… that was disturbing…. :P

    haha!

and the bluegrass swing dancing thingy with Mac was too funny…. it was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I saw you last night in KC… You rocked the house… And I agree with Switchfreak, the dance with Mac was awesome.  I hope you do it on every stop!

  • Haha, ‘road pastor’. Now i’m all curious as to what that entails. Great lines up there, by the way.

  • hm…  interesting…  interesting indeed…

  • you should go on tour with bad company for shore

  • So I played “Come Awake” at my high school’s talent show.  I had to do it acoustic since my church band decided to sit it out (aside from my bass player and another acoustic player, who accompanied on djembe).  I don’t think the students got it, but maybe they did.  Plus I ran over my time apparently and got cut off halfway through the “light will shine”(s).  It was still fun though, and I couldn’t think of a song I wanted to play more.

  • i like the lyrics. sounds very fun. almost makes me want to be able to play something. almost.

  • YOU SHOULD COME TO RCC SOMETIME!

  • That

  • would

  • be

  • totally

  • AWESOME!!!

  • Cool picture by the way. Never heard of a road pastor though. I like that song….hahaha.

    Leave me a comment sometime!

    BYE!

  • very interesting pic guys….OSMNESS!!

  • i’m a praise leader at my church and i sing your songs. i hope you dont mind.

  • ROCK AND ROLL NIGHTMARE.  On a bus with you yahoos?  Too much testosterone, he will be scarred for life.

  • ROCK AND ROLL NIGHTMARE.  On a bus with you yahoos?  Too much testosterone, he will be scarred for life.

  • Is that Marko from Youth Specialties? (I ask that as if Crowder is going to comment back to a question in the midst of the myriad of comments…)

  • whats up dcb!!!!

  • Excellent comment by the new ‘bus pastor’.  Say when can I live our my rock and roll fantasy on your bus?

Hey, maybe you could like raffle off chances to do the ride-a-long thing?

    L,r

  • come to my web-site and type comments

  • i went to your show on thursday night in Kansas City! i have to say how much delight it gave me to hear “Ring of Fire” play as you guys walked on stage. i’ve been trying to keep up with your blog, and ever since you gave us all a taste of the biodome bus situation, and showed us the strategically placed picture of the thurmostat with ”Ring of Fire” caption, my curiosity has run away with me. eating lunch with a friend at planet sub, the song came on the radio. i had never heard it before but after the first few lines i already knew what it was. i could not contain my excitment. my friend was a bit worried. then i started to wonder if you would actually play the song. and you did. it was marvelous. thank you.

  • bo ba ca chee

can i send you one of my demos? I want to see if you would like my music.

    Love,
    jack

  • I’m sure you guys will have a sweet blast of a ride.

  • Thursday(march23) was my first David Crowder Band concert ever, and it ROCKED!! i was totally diggin the keytar….and the swing dancing….and well, um, everything. Rossville Christian Church Youth Group had a blast!

i’ve been listening to your music for couple years now, and you can be sure i’ll keep listening!

come back to Kansas City some time! or hey, why not Topeka, Kansas?

    Safe Travels and God Bless,

    -Holly

  • p.s. maybe you should negociate with Mac about how long you get to play before him? :) we would have loved to hear a few more songs from you and your band!

p.p.s. your violinist has inspired my youth pastor’s wife to want to take violin lessons, just so she can play that solo…..

  • That is Marko from Youth Specialties.  I bet he’s fun to have on the road with you.

  • I’M NUMBER 48!!!!! WOO HOOO!!!!

Yes, well, Ahem. Sorry. * adjusts glasses*

Question: Are you really interested in bottles and cans? ’cause I like bottles. Not cans though. I have about a million old bottles I’ve found at abandoned houses and in horse pastures and I want to fill them with water and tie them to a tree with lots of branches on it and make a Whislting tree out of it. I don’t think it would work as well with cans.

well, Shalom, David Crowder and Band! ( and Roadies)

  • Great show in Kansas City on Thursday. Mucho bueno. Me gusta. I can dig the keytar.

  • Great showing Thursday in KC sorry you only got to rockout for 45 minutes, I felt the Crowd wasn’t to into the “Crowdster” at first but maybe they never have rock out to one of your shows before.O yeah it is 3rd day tour OK I going to repent right off the bat and say I’m personally sorry we didn’t get into the show until 12 hour point, our crew and about 1/4 of us were with you from Undignfied. Plus I felt we had no room to move and dance for the show, please next time tell them (I know this is probabley not your call but..) to knock out the first at least 5 rows of seat, so we can really get our groove on, like who really needs seats for a concert, only exception would be the handicap or grandmas attending . Please come back again and tour by yourselves or at least your tour. So we can really rock out, dance and be riduclous, and undignfied with DC*B. I Promise we will not let you down. Please don’t be discourage if you are!! “Keep on rocking in the free world” O yeah again me personally how dare Tai saying their teaching you all how to get the crowd into it and their show is teaching ground for bands like you. He may be kidding but I take offence to that kind of talk. I’m appauled, I’ve been to 5 of your shows now I think you all perfectly know how to ge the crowd into it. I yelled to him “HUMBLE THYSELF” How dare you say that about my favorite Band of all time. Anywho enough of my bickering. You guys Rock, keep doing what your doing Revolutionizing Praise and Worship.

  • So I saw you in Kansas City on Thursday.  I’d never seen you in concert before, but I loved every minute of it!  I’m wondering if you even read all of these things since you usually get over 100 of them.  I’m glad that you’re writing another book, I loved your first one.  It made me laugh and I learned a lot.  At any rate, your concert was amazing and my family loved you too.  Gotta love that keytar too!

    Blessings,

    Emily Anderson

  • I love laptops, almost as much as I love reading your updates. :) I’m on a laptop right now, it’s very lovely. It used to be my mom’s laptop, but she passed away very unexpectedly a week ago. It’s been rough, but I’ve been dealing. Tracey (the one that you know) has been awesome calling me and I still have yet to get her present, but I can’t wait.

Do some more updating real soon!! I’ll be waiting!! Thanks for your music, it’s amazing!!
    ~Sara

  • vbndfjsdfsl….. thats me yelling….. in tounges…… what are you doing tomorrow?…. you should be a pirate like me tomorrow…… ok bye now…… meow….. kitty…… ROAD PASTOR!

  • He appears a little perturbed at being interrupted from his work at the laptop. But that is definitely the facial hair of an apostle. He probably makes an excellent “pastor”.

  • Ah….Marko….Youth Specialties Marko?

  • haha looks like everything is fine and dandy on tour lol

  • Dang, I wish I had a road pastor! One who would go to work with me, drive with me, eat with me… Hehe.  Oh wait, I do though… his name is Jesus (no pics yet though).  ;)

  • Im tryin to come to your concert in june!

  • im just wondering one thing

    is that a mac?

    Leatha

  • I like the beard. good touch.  I like that you update more now.

  • hii marko! =P

  • Hi.

I haven’t seen your show or anything since last October. But being reminded of the infamous bus life, etc. made me think. You guys don’t have to do this. I mean, I know it has its share of adventure (as you’ve shared some of them on here). But, I know a lot of times, it’s gotta be hard, too. So, for the record, thanks to all of you for making a sacrifice of praise–literally. Soon I’m going to be moving to Canada for seminary…that’s a place where I know there’s not exactly a plethora of Christian musicians. I want to be sure to appreciate it while I can still really take advantage of the opportunity.

  • i missed you when you came to Dallas. i had to work or something i forgot, but i still want to see you live. we play alot of your songs at our church it is cool, one our lead worshipper is a big fan. i think it is cool how you explore different forms of music.

  • I Probably won’t for more than just a few hours cry if you don’t answer but I’ve got a question. My brother and and I just bought the Bottle mic and have so far been unimpressed. We’re using the B6 capsule and I was wondering how much of a difference in sound there is between the one you used and the B6. Also, it seems like you guys did a whole bunch of crap to the vocal sound so I’m wondering how much of your vocal sound actually came from the mic. Any thoughts? Oh yeah and we’re running it through a focusrite pre. mmkay

  • DC*B…………….  Thankyou for all you have done.  Come back to GrandRapids Michigan soon!

  • still sad

because you…never told me if you got my cd or not…and im assuming you didn’t….

    -Aaron Hale

  • i love your book by the way…read it in one day…couldn’t stop

  • it *your book* made me smile

  • but even still im sad because…yeah…you know

  • random comment:
i thought about you today because the automatic toilet flushed on me today with me still being there. twice. :(

hahaha…I loved Praise Habit, and was excited to see you mention writing another book in your previous entry :)

I wish you were coming closer to where I live in your tour, but hey, that’s okay because we get to hang out for a whole week at Passion 07!! I’m all registered and ready!

  • Hey, my husband and I LOVE the latest CD! (We’re in full-time youth ministry and we’re all big supporters!) I just found your site and wanted to say “well done” and God bless! I teach middle school and I actually had one of my classes pick a spot on the floor and sit and listen to “Come Awake” — they loved it! Their first comment was, “Can we hear that again?” Is there any way to stream one of your songs on a Xanga site? I didn’t know if you guys had a website that we could connect to???? Thanks for what you do! It’s awesome!

  • Man, Im tellin you…! It sure was nice to have you and the guys back for a sunday! When we gunna get together and have enchiladas?

  • CAN I LIVE OUT MY ROCK AND ROLL FANTASY WITH YOUR BAND TOO?!?!?!

  • you should really come to tupelo mississippi

  • Hey David, how’s the “road pastor” thing working out for you?

I have an idea, that would benefit you spiritually, and on the back side, possibly gain you a bigger audience. Their are so many of us youth pastors who would love to give up a week of our time to hang with you all and minister to you as you have ministered to us. By doing that, we then go back with this new friendship and stories to share to our youth and the obligation to drag all of our youth to any concert you are doing nearby and of course require them to buy all of your cd’s…lol. Just a thought bro, we could even set us a David Crowder road pastor blog…stories from the road…..whatcha think…I’m up for a week if your interested. Let me know

  • Cool song! The show in OKC rocked! Ya’ll should come to OK more often… *And yes, I do believe every Oklahoman has the Oklahoma song memorized through and through. Hehe*

  • So when are you guys gonna’ come play in Oahu? =)

  • sorry i missed you guys at church this weekend! (home repairs) I heard Terry was great.
glad to see you’re back on the road, though. stay safe! you know, i really hope you don’t get emailed every time someone eProps you on this thing. Your Xanga could bring down a Pentagon server.

It was pretty sweet.  Do you still have that one?

  • Yola, ola, shmola. =]

  • you guys are great!

thanks for the great praise music you produce!

  • Yeah for Marko!

  • So, you are my new obsession. I’m a newbie, and I’m listening to The Lime CD for the first few times. I have a page on yahoo 360, and David Crowder is my avatar. It’s awesome! Check it out: http://360.yahoo.com/profile-zTdaDqE9crVObmAuu.PckPDM

  •  i love you crowder!

  • i was near your place of residence for the past 24 hours. i thought about stopping by, but decided that would be a little wierd. mostly i thought about the smoking pistol and singing songs in your barn. i drank a dr. pepper this morning and it was glorious.

  • the lyrics are a little too repetitive

  • i just got home from the concert in nashville.  i would have been content to go home after you guys played and not see third day.  i like the way you do it without trying to be rockstars.  my throat hurts i sang wayyy too much. thanks for an awesome concert

  • he looks like a friend of mine in that picture….hmm maybe its his long last twin.  odd.
(in the voice of the grinch)

  • Hey man…I saw you in Chattanooga this past Friday. It was amazing! It was so worth the trip from Tuscaloosa Alabama, ha ha. I can’t stop listening to your album. Your music has really inspired me as musician and a person. Thank you so much and God bless!

    Dan

  • so i thought this was cool… roughly a week ago, march 23 to be exact, my brother and his wife of 10 months were at your concert in kansas city. well see sadie, mr brothers wife, was pregnant. near the end of your preformance she started having contractions. but they weren’t going to leave until it was over. so afterwards they went to the hospital, making me leave stillwater, oklahoma (OSU) and start driving that way. needless to say it was a false alarm but they are convinced that your guys music put her into false labor. pretty funny…

  • Hey David, I was just wondering if/when your coming to Global Mission Church for a concert in Maryland. Maybe I should check your concert listings. Well keep up the great music.

  • cornbread and collards for david!

  • Congratulations on winning some of the GMA Music Awards!
