  • You’re kinda a big deal…don’t know where I’ve heard that one before, but I really like it. In fact, I believe that I saw it on a t-shirt. And, after all, they’ll know us by the t-shirts that we wear.

  • that is too too cool. rob bell is amazing.

  • Yeaah! We’re driving up from north Indiana. We’d wanted to make a trip to see Mars Hill, and you guys being there seems like as good of an excuse as any to just get up and go.

  • i went this october.
    moving experience

  • that’s awesome!

  • wow. he’s that guy in those nooma videos our youth leader sometimes plays.

    breathe.

  • Soooo wish I could be there. What an amazing time it will be!  STRONGLY considered a road trip from GA to see the two of you together.  I hope this will not be a one time event. God is seriously working on me through your music.  Have an awesome time at Mars Hill.

  • oh man! i’m so jealous. i love the nooma videos.

  • You’re heading to rob somebody’s church?? What??

  • yea i need to read that book, i’ve seen some of the nooma’s…that guy is really cool, i would love to be able to go to his church some time. rock out there dude.

  • I used to go there when I went to school at GVSU.

  • I think the trampoline metaphor misconstrues what it means to know and love God. Doctrine is not like a trampoline where we can pull out springs and still jump on. Doctrine describes God and how He relates to us. When you love someone, you want to know them specifically, which means knowing their characteristics, who they are, and how they behave. An experience that is not grounded in the truth of who God is is not enough because you may wake up one day and realize that the god you have fuzzy feelings for is not really like the One, true God; hence, you wouldn’t really know God.

  • ELVIS DIED ON MY BIRTHDAY!!

  • It was so good seeing you at Mars today.  Keep doin what you’re doin’, you guys rock.

  • Mark Walter [founder & director of JAMA Racing Ministry] found out, today, that he will be attending  the “Thirsty” conference in “hot-lanta”.  I haven’t seen him this excited about a conference in a long time.

My prayers for a fruitful conference, y’all.

  • Hi dave i like the ever and ever and ever and ever and

so on………. eneywayi like that song.

  • wait a minute- i just looked back at your entries and you listen to Mum AND the album leaf AND danielson….
    what??
how cool are you right now?

  • So, I was one of the crowd members who was making you nervous behind you tonight. As tempted as I was to try something sneaky, I refrained…I didn’t think it would be in good taste. It was great to worship with you. It was also interesting to see you walk into the building and be locked out of the very sanctuary you were supposed to play in. Which door did they finally let you in?

  • VELVET ELVIS=AMAZING.

  • I read this message a day too late…

    Oh well.

I hope you enjoyed West Michigan.

  • Hey guys,

It was a joy to have you at Mars Hill.  One thing that I like about your approach to music, and Rob’s approach to teaching is the constant reminder that there is something bigger and grander than me.

    Thanks for the reminders.

  • You guys were wonderful @ Mars Hill. I went twice!!

  • we finally made it last night! drove almost two hours to get there. second attempt. in the morning we were turned back by the weather. and i don’t flinch at snow and ice! but yesterday i did. family think it may have been for our own protection against something that might have happened, and also it gave xangan notagainstme a chance to see you !  she was ecstatic! we all had a good time, and my two girls did a foot stomping hoe down on the song, as well as get a cellphone pic of notagainstme and you.

    that made her day.

i really like your songs. music is a language of the soul.

    we speak the same language.

    kindred spirits.

i used to live in dallas. went past waco to go to san antonio once.

i’ve enjoyed reading the comments in here. i’ve heard of rob bell and mars hill, and i have a friend who works there, but i don’t know too much details about his doctrine and theology. i go to church to see others worship. once in a while, i get caught up in worship too. most of the time my worship takes place with just God and me alone. it can get pretty intense. He is so much into “in your face” with me!

    hehehe.

have a safe trip back. weather is still crappy.

    and God is still good.

    ttyl

  • i really enjoy rob bell’s video sermon-ettes.

  • it was great to worship with you guys sunday at Mars.

i hope you all enjoyed the little snow.

    come back again sometime?

  • so is it a professional courtesy to read the pastor’s book before you go to his church?

  • ^above post made me laugh out loud in a room by myself.
