Brazil… Paris… that’s so awesome…
These pics are fantastic! =)
Remedy all over Paris……
And the Mona Lisa is puny for crying out loud…….
I can’t believe how small the Mona Lisa is! Usually paintings are bigger than you expect them to be. Interesting. I like the apartment building. It’s very Gaudi-esque although, to my knowledge, all his stuff is in Spain. Also, there seem to be lots of pharmacies in Paris.
Thanks for sharing your pictures, you’re a pretty good photographer. Thanks for the viewing music too
cant believe you went to roland garros. thats the good life my friend. =] viva la vida david.
Just by going to Roland Garros, your celebrity has increasesd so much more in my book. *sigh*
Hopefully this little guy didn’t slow you down too much there.
God bless,
~Scott
so which is cooler? that you got to see federer? or that he got to see you? (although he may not have known what greatness was in the crowd)
very cool… very cool
please say this wasnt all in one day…
talk about a whirlwind.
WOW…I’d be jealous if I wasn’t supposed to be!
Those are some sweet pictures! I now really want to go to Paris.
I should probably saty far awayfrom any testing involving ink blots.
The first thing I thought of when I saw that first picture was that’s kids game Mousetrap.
nice… looks good man…
remedy’s everywhere…
so would you remedy my curiousity
and tell me where “paris” comes from
not the city, but the song.
yesh…but if you know the origins of paris
i’m down =D
Hmm… that van may be covered in grass, but it didn’t do it.
headless angel and large spider = creepy.
grass car = weird.
apartment = the door has evil eyes.
self portrait = dual vision!
green1-5 = awesome!
I still smell a new single
wow did you go to the game?
one eprop for the parisian accordion interlude
zero eprops for lack of portraiture featuring you and significant other
grand total = one eprop
that bookshop looks fun. i liked this picture entry cause i actually knew what was show in every single picture!! =)
niiice
For someone who is afraid of squirrels, you can sure get close to a GIGANTIC spider. You are a strange person, David
.
how I wish I could go see Roland Garros as well as Federer
i am feeling that music!
Apple store soon to be in the louvre.
Still no pictures of you and the wife. Do you really even have a wife?
how do decide where you go on vacation? is it just random? brazil and paris in the same summer!
an-other great post. tell the gargoyles i say hey; they were always my fav. characters in the hunchback of notre dame.
That was my favorite part about Europe…walking into little hidden bookstores and art museums. I never got to go to France, but I’m holding onto that as a surefire reason I need to go back. Sounds like you had a great time.
the gargoyles are as handsome in real life as they were in the movie!
green 1 – 5 = remedy logo!!!!!!!!!!
amazing.
Thanks for the pictures! I spent four months in Paris but have not seen it in ten years. Looks like how I remembered it except for the grass covered car.
what an experience…
i took a picture of that exact same apartment building, dude.
how odd… its near one of the hotels we stay at on layovers.
and the headless winged statue is the Winged Victory of Samothrace.
just fyi.
dave,
Thanks for taking me to paris
It reminds me of the movie Amelie (French movie filmed in Paris)
A nome that is sent all over the world in pictures and makes a homebody father get out and see the world since his garden nome has seen more than him.
Thanks for being the garden nome… i want to go out and see paris now
in Christ
eujin
please see my page for a special note to you . . .
Dave, you are awesome.
for some reason those green crosses remind me of some artist’s album cover…
Federer might be a wizard, but Fred Savage will always be THE Wizard.

(Yeah… I know… it was actually Corey’s (Fred Savage’s) little brother Jimmy who played SMB3 like a wizard. But nobody remembers Jimmy. We only care about the real Wizard of 80′s kid-coolness: Fred Savage.)
i’ve always imagined the mona lisa painting to be bigger than that…..i hope that wasn’t your sole purpose of going in there and then when you see it think ” that’s it?”
Hmmm… didn’t know MAC’s make the same balloon-pop-up-on-lower-right noise that PC’s do; i.e. battery’s dead, New update available, or some sort of “computer-is-about-to-blow-up-into-a-million-pieces” message.
It’s right at the 10th second of the song… unless that was added on purpose? Makes me wonder…
That’s not a headless angel! That’s the Nike of Samothrace.
Paris is a beautiful city! I had the privilege of visiting it, as well as many other European countries and cities when I was about 12.
by the way, your “from the tower” panorama shot is magnificent.
-gasp- Venus flashed her bewbs!
goregous pictures!
@Renaissance_Phoenix - The “headless angel” is actually a statue called the Winged Victory. It’s headless and armless because it was carved millenia ago and very, very old statues tend to have parts that have fallen off.
I’ve been there! And I even recognized most of the pictures. I remember seeing all of those pieces of art at the Louvre, and I remember how horrible the room with Mona Lisa was. People were so rude and pushy. Geh. And the crepes in France were the best thing ever. Much better (and HUGER) than the ones I make at home.
Thanks for posting this, I’m glad it was featured. Now I want to go back to France.
Also, I like the photographer’s cameo in the picture in the bookstore with the mirror. Hahah.
My husband always thought that museum (the last pic, museum of modern art? forget what it is) looked like a giant hamster cage with the little tunnels.
oh shit, you saw Federer! badasss. I still want Nadal to win the French Open, though! =p hehe. it’s time to supplant that man from #1, f’real.
p.s. I love looking at pictures of bookshops & libraries (weird I know!), and I read somewhere that Shakespeare & Co. is the most-photographed bookshop ever.
awesome photos, makes me want to go even more.
lol, their pharmacies are more likely to give you an epiletic shock then anything useful
The grass-covered car is hilarious. And those green signs are in Spain, too! They of course mean “pharmacy”. Your Paris pictures remind me so much of España… Best country ever
Aah this brought back memories = ) The headless angel is the winged victory of samothrace i think
seems extremely awesome!!!
I want to go and have a look.
I will go when I growth up, I promise!!
Looks like a lovely trip! I’ve gone twice, and I miss the streets and the people and everything about it. I’m so jealous of you getting to watch Federer – that is one of my life goals.
Paris…Hilton?
i have friends that take amazing trips and ive always told them to take pictures and post them on facebook (most my friends dont use xanga). and i really mean it. i look forward to seeing other places, and seeing what they thought was important enough to photograph.
but for some inexplicable reason, most of them dont. it’s baffling.
these pictures are great. i enjoyed them. where do you live and when did you go to Paris?
Thanks for sharing! I feel like I’m there….
I just came back from Paris myself, two days ago actually. It was lovely (though expensive). Your pictures are much better than mine!
awesome pictures. I hope I can visit some of those places when I go there.
You saw Federer play? That’s pretty awesome. I’ve always wanted to go to Paris just to see The French Open.
Awesome pix! I love the one of the Eiffel Tower.
i wish i could go to Paris…
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!! *mouth agape*
I have almost that exact same picture from the Notre Dame. The one where the gargoyle is looking out at the Eiffel Tower. And I couldn’t believe how small the Mona Lisa was either. My graduation picture hanging in my parents house is bigger than that! My mom still cried when she saw it though. I’m jealous…I want to go again!
you should have gone to Sacre Couer. Especially at night. It is the most amazing site in all of Paris, so beautiful and such an amazing view of the city.
the word ‘another’ doesn’t have a hyphen in it.
Looked like you visited la pharmacie a lot
Cool pics! The headless angel is actually Winged Victory… she’s just seen better days.
I wanna go to Paris…
Everything looks so pretty!
Sweet!!! This is awesome. I was just there last February. It was soooor amazing!
I didn’t get to look inside the Louvre though.
or go to the top of Notre Dame. Really amazing shots my friend!
-Sam
Ya! and the Green things! I forgot to mention that on the last comment. Do you have any idea what they were? I saw them everywhere as well.
-Sam
I have never been to Paris but your pictures make me want to go even more. I love the pictures of the bookstores. They look like they’d be good places to just spend an afternoon exploring and browsing.
… et la récompense pour le plus remarquable, récente, voyage vers Paris va à !
these are hawt. How was your trip?
I wonder if you have to mow the grass car and water it, too?
love it, i was in paris last year. do they allow you to take pics of mona now?
well, mr. crowder, i do really love your pictures of paris, and i think you should know that i have some very similar ones myself. i’m surprised you were able to capture mona, because when i was at the louvre all these guards would chase people down and say “pas de photos!” and make you put your camera away… so good job getting her in the shot.
also, i happen to be in Germany for the summer helping to start a church and have found lots of green signs… i’ve started my own little collection! i am not as cool as you though, because i don’t know how to write songs while flying. and i don’t have a clever self-portrait taken in a mirror surrounded by books. that was very well thought out i must say.
hiya your photography is really good i love the gargoyles!how did you take them?
yea i saw the mona lisa ….i was like
its not that intresting
there was much better stuff there,.i was more impressed about the lourve building![pyramid!]
pretty cool
xxxxxx
I want to go so badly!
*blush* must I reply?
Wonderful pictures. You are pretty talented with a camera! Thanks for sharing! I hope to see some of them with my own eyes one day…
gorgeous pictures! your so lucky to have gone!
Who loves orange soda?
Kel loves orange soda!
Is it true?
I do, I do, I do, I do, I do-ooooh!
Thanks for bringing back memories. I loved Paris. And that bookshop is it just across from the Seine – because it looks really familiar. I remember walking down the “corridor o food”………
I forgot about Shakespeare & Co. book shop! That place is awesome. Cool pics.
I don’t see why the size of the Mona Lisa should take away its credibility..
Great photos, you’re going to places and seeing works that I would love to see.
jealous…
Love your pictures. I’ve only been to Paris once and it was for a lay over on my flight. Didn’t like the terminal very much though. Must make note to go into the city next time.
wow. I would love to see Paris one day. Nice pics.
Looks like you had a good visit!
aw man… you guys got to watch federer live. what a dream…
I just realized that you weren’t trying to be funny typing “an-other”. It really can be two words gramatically. You are smart, David Crowder.
By the way, what happened to your favorite comments?
Hey Dave.. Just wanted to let you know something. Me and my church youth guys are going down to Dallas this week. So, being inspired by you, I decided I would take my laptop with me and program some music on the 4 hour drive down! Hopefully it turns out about as half as good as your stuff, cause then I’d be pretty satisfied!
i just wanted to comment
to make it reach 100
because i’m weird like that
some would even call it OCD
what’s with all the green crosses? i don’t remember them when i was there. i probably just ignored them. hey, i’m pretty sure that “headless angel” is “winged victory”. was that statue at the entrance of louvre? i’ll tell you, had i known how big louvre was, i would have scheduled more than one day to see it. i had no concept just how big that place was. if you’re still in paris, you might want to check out rodan’s museum. it was pretty cool.
I love the McSweeney’s picture because I love Nick Hornby.
@Janiece1 - the green crosses show that there is a pharmacy (like a convenience store) at that locale.
HEADLESS ANGEL?!?!?!!! Me, the art student, cannot believe that you are calling that a headless angel! Doncha know what that is?!
that was really cool ^_^ i like how your music matches your pictures and how remedy was all over paris =)
I’ve always supsected that they had large, man-eating spiders in France.
I do believe that green 1 and green 2 are the same green but different pictures. So there really were not 5 greens, but only 4. I demand another green.
haha. this is great. i just got back from over their. me and my friend did major paris monuments in about 8 hours. we walked. started at montparnasse, down to the hospital with napoleon’s tomb, over to the petit and the grand palaces, down the champs elysee, around the arc de triomph, back down the champs elysee, over to the louvre, notre dame, then down the seine to the eiffle tower and back to the train station… our feet were sore that day!
please say this wasnt all in one day…
talk about a whirlwind.
