when robots rule the world…
ok, last night was unhinged. for one, it was new years eve. so, happy new year to you and yours. i hope your 2007 is fantastic. the thing that made last night especially nutty was this msn voting thing. it was hilarious! now, i should state the obvious here, or what i’d hope to be the obvious: we as a band do not come to any large conclusions regarding such a contest as this, other than being nominated is pretty cool and must mean someone somewhere in the msn/music organization likes us and is hopeful that some exposure might be helpful to a band such as ours, and also, contests are fun. now it was obvious early on that the only entity aware that msn had any sort of contest for artist of the year was inxs. however, one of our loyal supporters informed us that we were in the hunt and tragically behind. i posted a deal here in our xangaland and we posted a bulletin on that otherspace. over night you rocketed us into a ridiculous lead. inxs fans got really hacked off at this and jumped to the logical conclusion that we must have developed some voting software to work on our behalf. i know this because another loyal supporter sent me a link to one of their message boards. it was awesome to read. they grossly underestimated you and yes, they think you are mastermind software geniuses. so they emailed msn informing them that surely dirty play was afoot and they should check into things. i’m not sure but i suspect that is what was happening when the voting disappeared during the middle of the month. it then reappeared and slowly the inxs fans started chipping away at our lead. then the robots got involved. yes, robots. someone figured out that inxs fans had posted a bot link on a number of their boards and it soon became a battle of technology. and that, my friend, is how we entered the year 2007. it is official, we are living in the future. i woke up this year a little anxious about all of this, you know, wondering what meaning could be derived from robots expressing a human love of two groups artistic endeavors. but then i turned on the tv this morning and the rose parade was on. we’re still making things out of beans and flowers so i feel better.
thank you very much if you were one of the faithful clicking away. it is really cool that you’d care about what we’re doing and want other people to know about it. hopefully, if our robots ended up beating their robots, it will spread this music a little further. and if not it was still really dang fun!

hope your christmas was fantastic, but…
i have inconceivable news. it seems inxs has rallied their fans and they are quickly over taking us in the msn artist of the year polls!
yes, “kick” was one of the best albums ever, that point is irrefutable. but here’s what we think is going on:
mr. kenny chesney finally found email access somewhere on the island, saw that a come back was impossible. i mean imagine his surprise when he clicked on the msn artist link and saw dcb with 86 percent. it was a crushing moment. and so he called his friends in inxs and said, “hey, guys, i loved that album “kick”, one of the best albums ever, seriously. so, how about you rally your followers and put a stop to this, huh? yeah, i know, but sorry, i’m on the island. it’s christmas. my tan is fading as we speak, so, no can do. it’s up to you. make us proud.” and so inxs rallied, just as kenny had requested. in fact, we have been informed that we’re losing an estimated 1 percent every 6 hours. at this rate, the boys of inxs will most definitely walk away with this grand title, despite your brilliant efforts early on. i mean how fun was that to watch us jump to such a crushing lead over night! you people are unstoppable! so here we go, one last push before new years. we’re pretty sure the inxs boys have their whole fan club and/or publicity department on this. let’s see what happens…click here to go vote for us for MSN ARTIST OF THE MONTH. vote now and often.
happy new year!!!

once again i declare, “holy crap!”
msn artist of the year voting…
you may recall a certain tuesday, back in july of this year, where i posted a small deal about us being nominated for msn artist of the month. in it, i poked a little at one of our fellow nominees, busta rhymes, referring to him as, “mr. busta,” and making reference to mr. busta’s acting abilities, and then humbly requested that you go and vote for us, crushing mr. busta in the process. even though voting for this type of thing can be a bit awkward, you did. in fact, poor mr. busta was trodden by you and your clicking mouse. we won msn artist of the month, and it can now only be chalked up to your aptitude for online navigation and your cat-like-voting prowess that we are here once more. however, this time around, an entire annual cycle is at stake! sadly, mr. busta is nowhere to be found. no, with good people like kenny chesney, (he’s that country artist that used to be married to nicole kidman, right? i’m kidding, i’m kidding. sorry, rene.) and mrs. aguilera, and the artist prince, formerly known as “the artist formerly known as prince,” anyway, all i’m saying is this time around will be much more difficult. but we feel, based on your past performance, that we might just have a chance. and we’re pretty sure kenny isn’t paying attention since he’s on holiday in the islands, working on that fantastic tan and stocking up on coral necklaces for his next tour. so, please, while we have this small holiday window, while kenny is away, please, go vote your heart out and pass the word along to all your family, friends and foes.

big news posted on the crowder band site…
we here at the dcb are hoping you had a fantastic thanksgiving. we thought we should let you know that we ate a whole lot of turkey this past weekend, seriously, a whole lot of turkey, at least those of us who still eat meat did. yes, it is true, some of the band members have lost their ever loving mind and begun neglecting the consumption of previously living animals. it would be false to say, “they have become vegetarians,” as some of them don’t like very many vegetables. they could better be described as, “pizzaterians,” perhaps. anyway, as you see, there has been much happening of late that is news worthy, so, we composed a news article packed with information and appeal just for you, you know, to keep you abreast of everything crowder band related, as we are aware of your fondness for being conscientiously informed. so, please proceed immediately to www.davidcrowderband.com for some very latest news that you WILL NOT want to miss! and, happy belated thanksgiving. we are thankful for you.

linerider!
so a friend of ours who recently moved from atlanta ga to the south of france posted a link on our guestbook: linerider.com. the day before yesterday we had a day off in atlanta ga and i happened to remember our friend who had recently moved to the south of france and the link he posted. four hours later, after staring into vacant pallor whiteness awaiting simple black lines to dictate foundation and direction, (of course framed in fluorescent orange) the following exquisiteness was produced:

ok. so you requested some ‘before’ pictures. here you go:if you’re coming to the game late, here’s the summary:
i have a bright orange laptop. i need stickers to distract from its orangeness. i think rather than picking them out myself it would be fun if you sent me some. i’ll then pick from the ones i am sent. i will choose those that seem to fit me and my orange laptop best, you know, those that compliment us both.1701 dutton ave

help. please help.
ok. so i acquired a new laptop. i’m typing on it currently. it arrived in the mail the day prior to our leaving for this leg of the tour. i really should be thrilled about this, but here’s the problem – it has been painted bright, fluorescent orange. now, yes, this was something i in fact asked for; although, i can’t for the life of me envisage or recollect what i could have been thinking at the time. it is so flipping bright! it is painful to look in its general direction. i say this with no levity. in fact, jack who is sitting across from me just said, “good lord, can you please, please, turn that thing down? i’m squinting. squinting i say! please, for the love!!” and he has a point. my eyes keep drifting from the screen to the bright orange edges framing it. so i am here to beseech thee for help. please. please, help me. i have determined resolutely that what i need are some stickers. send me stickers to cover and mute this vociferous glowing currently projecting from my lap. if you don’t feel the urgency of my plea, here: i’m currently in florida. if you reside in say, tennessee, or ohio, or arkansas, simply gaze out your window in a general southeast direction and behold a new luminescence on the horizon – that is me! please, help.
send stickers to:1701 dutton ave
waco tx 76706i’ll update with a picture of my newly stickered orange computer so you can observe whether or not any of yours proved advantageous. thank you for your kind attention.
