It Begins
so here we are. the third day tour. wherever you are. that’s the title of the tour – wherever you are. pretty clever. cause see it’s the name of their new recording and it’s also the tour name that sort of insinuates that no matter where you are there also will be the tour. of course that wasn’t the intent of the record’s theme. no it was more like, stuff happens that isn’t that great and it’s just a part of life and in the middle of whatever that thing is that’s not going so great, god is there. presence is promised. magnificent. and then it also works pretty well for a tour name. so anyway, i’ll try to keep you up to date with what’s going on. right now we’re in ohio. so if you are in ohio, we are there. wherever you are. except it’s sold out. so if you’re not already going to be there then we’re not really there. sorry. should have planned better. like been born in ohio and then gotten tickets ahead of time. except you should know that it’s freakin cold here. if you are in a sunny place, stay there. do not come here. we’ll come there. wherever you are. it’s so cold! i have no winter coat only light weight jackets. i’m told that layering is where it’s at. so i have two of them on. and a t shirt. but it’s 13 degrees out there. so i’m in the bus. hogan is sitting next to me playing some dumb game on his psp. he has a scarf on. it makes me chuckle to see him in a scarf. here, look at him playing his dumb game with his scarf on.
see. it is enough to make one chuckle. but he is warm and am scarfless. look at the furrow of his brow. he is really working that head of his. “hogan!” “hogan!” he won’t even look up. oh well. so far it seems the tour is going just as planned. so wherever you are we’ll see you soon and in the mean time just stay tuned and i’ll let you know how it’s going.

Its cold here too…Im in Beaver Falls PA which is almost in Ohio! But where I am is not where you are, so you should come to where I am and then I could be where you are!

Hey David Crowder. I don’t know if you comment back all that much cause as I have read you are very busy. I was at passion in 05 and 06 I love your work. I love how you let God use you to bring peopel with you in worship. I can really tell that you don’t care whats going on around you or how you look as you perform cause your doing it for God and no one else. Well I hope your tour goes well I don’t thik I’ll get a chance to see it but my brother is so I’m kind of jealous. Well again I love you music and keep rocking for God.
//chuckle//
i was just listening to yall in my car a few min ago….’twas nice.
“a collision” is one great cd….thanks for that. really. when i listen to i’m not just listening and rocking out, but it’s like worship. i don’t get that from many recordings. so bravo to yall! and many thanks, i’ve enjoyed becoming a fan.

i’m like 700 feet from your
bus. at cedarville university.
and it really is flipping cold
outside. wish i was gonna be
at the concert tonight.
have a great time!!!
ciao.
It’s cold in Texas today too. I like Hogan am inside, wearing a scarf. Maybe it will be 70 degrees in fifteen minutes, one can hope.
its snowed most of the day here in knoxville, tn…pretty much amazing, i love the snow! are ya’ll comin down here? -dani
yes layering is the key… it is quite cold in Chicago too, that is where I am… I can empathize with your “coldness”
Dude it is cold here in Oklahoma, too!
did you just get colonials delivered? pizza? ha. silly boys.
it’s in the negative’s here in Wisconsin. but i can’t complain… there’s nothing like the countryside covered in white powder.
I have yet to go to a concert of yours, but there’s a first for everything, right?
God Bless,
Audrey
P.S. i noticed the dr. pepper in the background.. finally some dr. pepper people! totaloo……
nokia theater in “dallas” texas… yeah, i’ll be there… and you’ll probably be about 500 gazillion feet away… but i’m spending a paycheck on it, so i’ll bring my binoculars. ha!
peace in,
Kinzington… or just Kinz…
I’m in Ohio! It’s supposed to be 4 degrees tonight. Welcome.
it’s so interesting to me that you’re about 500 feet away from me… and yet I’ll never see you. I’m here at Cedarville University, but just too poor to go to concerts. I know, I know, how the heck am I at Cedarville- lol it’s by God’s grace and that’s it, cause it’s not my wallet. anyway- I love to read your writings; based on that I’d love to hear your songs, but alas it is not so. But keep up the faith, live for ^Him^ in all, all stuff you’re already doing. Have fun at the concert tonight, you probably should have come last week tho; we were in T-shirts, but that’s Ohio for you.
God Bless
haha, hogan is so into the game -_-
i want a scarf too, chicago’s FREEZING. i want to see you guys again but i guess that one time at trinity is enough… >< ohio’s freezing… 13 degrees… haha.
Hey, you are pretty cool and your blog makes me laugh. I love the new album, and can’t wait til you come to Beckley, WV. I’ve got tickets!! Keep praising Jesus!
Well, you officially up’ed your coolness in my book! I mean how many celebrities have a flippin xanga? not many! You guys rock hard! I’ll prolly be attending one of your concerts really soon!
Spreading God’s love,
Chandra
hi David =] i went to Fresh2005 and i really enjoyed experiencing worship with you and the band. i can tell you guys have a big heart for God. plus the music is great! i can’t wait until you guys come to SoCal!
hm Hogan’s scarf actually does look funny, especially because he’s so intent on beating the game on his PSP. but… i think you should post a pic of you wearing a scarf! maybe you’ll look funny too haha. anyway, stay cool (or warm, whichever) and God bless!
-Michelle
PSP’s are cool! haha.. i should go watch you guys
Hello there. I am sorry that it is so cold in Ohio. However be comforted in the fact that the wind chill is below freezing here in Texas as well. Also however, you probably have a coat somewhere in Texas so you wouldn’t have to layer. I bought A Collision recently and I love it. I am playing Here Is Our King at my youth group this wednesday. Anyway just thought I’d say hi and let you know that one more person likes your music and appreciates the message.
holy smoke….13 degrees…that is crazy….i live in mississippi and it’s only 50 degrees and i am freezing…..crazy southerners
good luck with the tour….God Bless
haha this entry made me laugh. i’ll try to make it to the hampton, va one!
hey what city are you guys in?
Hey, just wanted to let you know I am praying for you guys, I am sure ya’ll won’t remember me, I only met some of the band when ya’ll played in Palo Duro Canyon last fall, my Dad MC’ed the concert his name is Buddy, I wish ya’ll the best. Be blessed, -Anna Young
I really wanted to go to the concert. I’m so sad it sold out.
. Yes, it is very cold here in Ohio. I was very sad when I woke up today and it was so cold, because yesterday it was somewhat warm. How sad. On both accounts.
~Melissa

I am in South Georgia.
it is warm here. come here.
believe it or not, its pretty cold down here in texas too. clearly not 13 degrees. but here in the houston area its about as cold as its been all winter. speaking of houston area, why not be wherever we are? …huh? ..huh!?!?

Its getting pretty cold in Texas, too. Of course, cold to me is when we have a high of 44 degrees, not 15.
IM GONNA BE AT THE CONCERT FO SHO!!!
should be a good time.
peace out, and God bless.
It’s snowing right now in Oklahoma…but the Houstonian in me says that it’s supposed to be summer…possibly spring. Your pain is felt…
wow well you already have a bajillion comments but me and my friend destinee were the 2 weird girls yelling “DAVID! DAVID!” as you were walking off stage on thursday night in virginia.
you guys are amazingly awesome. thanks for selling out to Christ. I told Hogan that, but I wanted to tell you, Dave and everyone else, thanks for being so inspiring and stuff. you’re awesome.
-danika
the weathers been crazy lately..up here in connecticut. i just wanted to say i absolutley LOVE your music and…may God be with you…wherever you are. teehee =)=)
yeah, so you’re definitely at cedarville today….and i’m most DEFINITELY not there. i’m up in northeast ohio…..sadness. and i apologize for our extreme cold. welcome to ohio.
so i have a few friends that are driving down to Cedarville for that. my sister is going to a concert in Michigan.
if y’all were in Ohio a week ago, you would have seen 60º weather
god bless you wherever you are!
it’s 13 degrees in new haven too. the weather is also wherever you are. profound.
like many other people here at cedarville university, i am broke;
thus, i cannot come to your concert.
but i wish i was there.
have a great time and enjoy this crazy frigid weather.
[ohio is truly cursed...and flat...and all of the above]

I will be wherever you are on April 15th. So just in case you don’t know where you’ll be then you’ll be in Greensboro N.C. and there you’ll be and whever I am there I’ll be whever you are. COOL!!!
This is just so way cool. I just found your xanga sight yesterday and noticed that the last post was in December so I was thinking maybe ya’ll only used your Myspace site anymore that Hogan blogs on. I went back tonight to catch up on your past words of wit and lo and behold you have returned. I just love your writing. I devoured Praise Habits. Anyway, I’m gonna see you tomorrow night in Ypsi. I am so excited. Not much warmer here right now but hopefully you will be.
oh, ew, PSP! play gameboy
Yeah Ohio’s pretty cold right now. Low of 1! Keep warm!
i shall see u in kc
I’m so happy that you updated today!!!!!! This totally made my long and tiring past 3 days so much better!!!
It’s so cold here in Arlington, Virginia too (it’s like 20 degrees outside right now and colder tomorrow morning). I hate the cold. Especially since it was like so much warmer just Friday morning. It’s crazy weather.
Oh and again I loved the show on Thursday night!!! I wish you guys could’ve played more, but it was awesome seeing you guys anyways!!
Seeing that picture of Hogan definately made me *chuckle*. lol.
Hey man,
Hot hearts wasn’t the same without you there. Dutton played and 99.9 of the songs they played where either from your new cd or illuminate. Anyway, I saw you in town now to long back. I had almost forgotten you are from Texarkana. Feel free to comment back sometime, although I know you’re going to have 0897599070975 comments so that’d be hard to do. Good luck with the tour. It’s been a while since I’ve seen y’all..Sixflags concert was it?
OHIO? OHIO IS LAME. WACO FOREVER. we know how to party.q
yeah, it’s cold here, too (Michigan)…I think it’s 3 degress, or something, and falling. no snow, but the air is all a sparkle. looks like glitter. yay sparkles.. All the parking lot lights look like spot lights. Very cool…and very unique. Layers and a scarf are okay, but hat and mittens are good, too.
you guys rock my face off!!! i hope to maybe catch yall on tour sometime!! dude its like 13 degrees here ….and it snowed like 4 inches today YES!! had a snowball fight at work…but yea it rocked.
Orlando is warm you should just come here after Tampa, Maybe have Toni meet you and bring your 2 nieces to Disney again where they can Get a sucker bigger then their heads and your wife can throw it out the window cus they were licking it when they were not supposed to. (Story from last Thirsty conference for those of you who think i am a crazy DC*B Stalker)
If it’s any consolation, it’s pretty darn cold here in Tennessee too…like, colder than it’s been all winter. I hope to see you in Chattanooga when you guys come through there. Hats, gloves, and warm shoes help a lot, even in the absence of a heavy coat. God bless you. I hope you don’t catch a cold.
It’s 2 degrees in CO. Brr!
Can’t wait to see you guys when you come here March 12th!
Nicole <><
buy a north face jacket .. they are amazing
you should get the gangsta one with the fur on the hood
oooh , insinuous… oh, and yes… cold = bad
One for for the masses: I recently bought both Third Day’s “Wherever You Are” and your own “A Collision.” Both very, very good. Keep up the good work; we all love ya down here in Baton Rouge.

I live in Missouri, and the high today was 14….I wish I were in Ohio though, so I could see you guys.
Was at the show tonight – you guys were absolutely amazing.
Thanks for a great time.

you’ll probably never read this, but if you do, you could comment on my xanga.. haha. thats so stupid, but it would be cool anyway..
let me know if you ever wanna come down to kileen to do a youth group session..
it’d be pretty sweet.
I am very happy to see that you updated. I saw you in concert tonight. You guys were great… you do good work. My throat was hurting after you got off stage.. not leaving me much for third day. But it’s OK, I wanted that to happen.. so anyway.. I can’t wait to see you guys again. Keep praising God.
So looking forward to that! =)
don’t guess i’ll catch ya’ll in memphis… but i’m sure you’ll get those 1000 brown m&m’s and put on a great show…
i’m in hawaii. you guys should come here. temperature is just shy of 80.
awesome
I’m in London, England for the semester…does wherever I am come into your tour?…if I was home in NC I’d already have tickets.
Ha, that’s so funny to see you guys on stage last night and then see the dude wth the ‘Mozart’ shirt on in the pic… Um… that was YESTERDAY.
Fun times.
i really enjoy your website. cool that you mentioned it on the jacket to “collide”. (is that what it’s called? the jacket?) man, when you’re in chicago this week BEWARE! it’s BELOW ZERO. i’m tellin you, you need to buy a jacket! go for down jackets. they’re all on clearance now, and they’re so warm! stinks that you’re not playing during the evening show, just at the conference at willow. a bunch of friends and i were goin to drive down to see you guys (we’re in WI), but then found out the details and the fact that you’re playing the conference. bummer. well, God bless you in your travels, david. God bless your band and the rig you ride in from city to city! may you have a quiet moment with your maker today.
in His grip, melissa
i’m an idiot, i meant a collision, not collide….doh!
i love dr. pepper….
New Bern is currently like 70 degrees… so it feels really good down here.
Love Gracie
ohio here too… freezing and this morning the HOT water didn’t turn on.
I think that everyone and their mom is now going to bring you scarves to you at your shows. Let me know if you don’t get one. I have plenty to spare.
Hey, i saw you and your band in concert in lynchburg virginia. And yall did a great job. Me and my friends wished that you could of played longer though…. well thanks for putting on a great show.
Andrew
hmm…are you coming to north carolina?? That would be cool…I’m gonna look that up. I do believe that the Collision tour was my FAVORITE concert ever when you came here to Greenville. People in my campus ministry are still talking about it (on occasion, anyway) and they still get excited just remembering it. Praise God! Ya’ll are blessed to usher in the presence of God the way you do! God bless you and may the fire of the Holy Spirit keep you warm!!!
In Christ,
Nancy
You should just come to PA since you’re so close!
Haha and I love the picture of Hogan with his scarf, so into the game. My step-uncle has one of those games, and he gets so zoned out when he really gets into them.
it’s cold in Virginia too. it’s like 27 degrees. just a couple of days ago, it was in the 70s. i think the weather is bipolar. well, have fun in ohio and i hope to see ya’ll soon!
scarf…..that is a fantastically fun word………SCARF….scarf…ha
I love dcb
Yeah, us Texans don’t really know much about dressing for cold weather. My husband, kid and I went to Michigan last weekend…soooo cold!
Haha, it looks like that psp is really sucking him in. I agree- If its warm, STAY THERE! Its 20′s in Va… Add the wind chill, and you have ‘teens. Oh, believe me, its all about the layering! That down jacket always does the job though…
CROWDER!!! i can’t wait to see you in good ol ABILENE TX…yes i will be there!!! hopefully it will be warmer here than ohio!! ok, see u then! MARCH 5th wooooohooooo
hi! ….. um…. are ya’ll ever gonna come near or to slidell, la?
hi david!
KK I’ll stay here in warm Alabama! lol It is very warm here! Could almost wear shorts the other day! Is that not cool or what?! Wearing shorts in February! Living in the south is cool. lol ttfn ta ta for now!
B
You’re not gonna be in Mississippi.
False advertising?
that’s my type of humor =)
i have only seen you guys once and it was at international in Nashville….you guys pretty much are the man
chelsea
well what a happy surprise to see you back at the ol’ tour blogs again! it really brightens my week to read your updates, although i’m sure those around me get tired of hearing quotes from your blog but oh well. i’m sure that sprinkling holiday cheer is old, but i still find myself grinning like the grand canyon while continuing to sprinkle even though it is february and valentine’s has come and gone. thanks for bringing such delight in the small things to so many.
so are youth group was to come see you play but when we went to order tickets 1 month before the show it was sold out…..but i guess that is great for you guys…but not so great for us, now we’re just sitting in this cold weather….it was 3degrees out last night…hah
seems the trend to comment
HAHA you were sitting in my school when you wrote that…i was at the concert…front and center….you said hi to my sister hannah….which is a palandrome….and her name was actually anna….which is also a palandrome….thats pretty neato….i love the tour also…so where ever you are …..good job
I’M NOT SURE IF YOU READ THESE, BUT IF YOU DO, THIS ONE IS IMPORTANT!
My name is Seth Carlton, and I’m a Junior who attends First Baptist Church of Lewisville. Five minutes ago I sent in a booking email on the davidcrowderband.com website. I’m not sure if also leaving a comment here will do much more good, but it couldn’t do any harm… Our church is going to have two events to raise money for the Invisible Children Foundation. The first will be the showing of the Invisible Children documentary at our church. The second will be held the following Saturday (most likely April 22 or 20), from roughly noon to 8:00. It’ll be a pretty large concert with several bands playing, and it’ll be called ”SAVE THE CHILDREN: A benefit for the “inisible children” of Uganda. Our youth group is expecting to raise the most money from the concert. If your band could come play, I’m sure that a huge crowd would come. Here’s the thing though — We don’t have any money to pay you guys, but if you did, it’d be conveniently right after the Wherever You Are Tour, and it’d be a huge charity. All the money raised will go directly to the Invisible Children Foundation. I do know that everything costs money, and a concert from you guys does for sure, but I didn’t think it’d hurt to at least try to get this idea to you (through emails and xanga comments).
if you do read these comments, and you happened to read this comment, which is way too long, thank you, and i’d hope that you would at least considering presenting the idea to the rest of the band.
and if it’s at ALL possible, please send me any sort of answer (seth_carlton@msn.com)
THANKS AGAIN!!! GOD BLESS.

fun fun fun =D
doesn’t do much good to get out of the cold…here in AL its FREEZING!!!
I was wherever you were last night…at Cedarville. And I must say, Mr. Crowder, that I am in love with your Rock Opera…because a.) rock and opera combined = one magical night, b.) your voice and writing skills are beyond my comprehension, and c.) being in love with Jesus plus the combination of (a) and (b) = one powerful time of worship. Thank you for being an instrument.
You guys are the best.
haha! love ur entries. so entertaining
i was there… wish you guys sang longer cuz it was amazing… and you’re right, it was freakin cold.
You should try wearing scarves. They’re great! I highly recomend them. Of course you don’t know me and it would probably be silly for you to take advise from someone you don’t know. So go ahead continue in your scarfless cold state if you think you’re too cool for them. However remember I will become even more undignified than this.
Yeah, Ohio is known for it’s crappy weather. I live there, well, in the off season as far as school is concerned. Too bad everything’s sold out there, but apparently there are still tickets to the Indiana shows
Then again, the weather sucks over here too.
Whereever you are, do not come to Illinois. It’s cold here too. Go to California, someplace sunny and warm. My friends and I will come there. Wherever you are. ‘There’ has got to be better than ‘here.’ Promise. Don’t come here. Here sucks.
u won’t be anywhere near philly =(
